Credentialed Government Leader (CGL) Program

The Credentialed Government Leader (CGL) Program is a joint venture between MMANC, MMASC and ICMA. CGL provides foundational tools, experiences and connections designed to develop participants’ knowledge, self-awareness and skill set.  The program is designed to build the management and leadership skills of analysts, mid-managers and other members who have at least three years experience in a government organization and prepare them, through coursework and coaching, to become government leaders.

Tomorrow’s City-County Manager’s Forum

Every year the Next Gen of Silicon Valley Committee sponsored by the two CM Associations of SC and SM Counties conduct a “Tomorrow’s Executive Forum.” This all-day workshop helps prepare future City/County Managers and Department Heads by promoting succession planning in the participating agencies. The Forum alternates its focus between future chief executives one year, and then future department heads on alternate years. Both Forums feature senior executives and executive recruiters who provide panel discussions, role-playing, speed coaching, career development resources, and networking.

This event is geared towards emerging leaders; participants are selected through a competitive application process.

Management Talent Exchange Program (MTEP)

Starting Fall 2025!

High-potential employees are placed in another local government agency for three months. The exchange creates new skills, experiences and relationships.

Agencies can place employees with other local governments and/or receive MTEP employees for the three months. In addition to supercharging the careers of participants, MTEP helps local governments expand their organizational capacity and effectiveness with fewer employees.
